BarCamp spaces
Thanks to the generosity of the Lowcountry Innovation Center, BarCampCHS has a wide variety of open and flexible space to use.
- 3,200 sqft large room (ground floor)
- 2,200 sqft large room
- 1,860 sqft large room
- 1,600 sqft large room
- 1,060 sqft large room
- 3x large conference rooms with table/chairs, plasma TVs
- 2x small conference rooms with table/chairs, whiteboards
- Storage vault
- Kitchen and cafe with additional seating
The large 3200 sq ft space on the ground floor is currently planned for visual arts type sessions. At the moment, these are mostly photography related sessions, but should be more than enough room for other types of visual arts things to be put on.
The other spaces on the second floor are wide open and can be easily configured to handle large sessions or smaller concurrent sessions. The conference rooms provide a more intimate space for smaller sessions and BoFs (Birds of a Feather).
While it may turn out that not all of the spaces end up being available for BarCamp (due to being rented/leased out to other companies), there will still be plenty of room for BarCampers to work with.
And don't forget there is a huge amount of outdoor space around the Lowcountry Innovation Center too. If you have a session idea that might be more conducive to being held outdoors, there is plenty of parking lot space and a grassy field to play in.

Thanks for posting this Eugene, I appreciate it!
Will try to get a page up that talks more about the ground floor room, just haven't had the time to get to it.
If anyone would like to help "develop the idea" please let us know!
Oh yeah, we still need sponsors! Someone out there want to sponsor this room?

Hey all,
I'll see what I can do about spreading the word to artists who do other things than photography and video. I know most of the people involved organizing BarCamp are computer folks, and I am one to some extent too, but I really think it's missing a trick if we don't let the more "analog" artists in the area know about this facet of the event---if, in fact, they know about this event at all.
I don't have massive amounts of contacts in the area yet, but I'll see what I can do to get the word out.
