History of Computers Museum

The intent of this session is to be more of a showcase for some of the (now) antique/old pieces of computer hardware that almost every computer geek has squirreled away. Bring along those old 8 and 16 MB flash drives and memory cards and other ancient storage media, that old AT style mechanical keyboard you're still using, the old Macintosh or IBM XT gathering dust in your closet and share it and your memories with the rest of us!

Windows 95 on 3.5" floppies? DOS boot disk? Pentium CPU? An 8086 lurking in a forgotten board somewhere? Bring it!

I second that! I can bring some interesting stuff. Would love to see what other folks have.

Some of the hardware I'll be bringing are some Intel Xeons, a P4, a Pentium Pro, some naked hard drive platters (one that was harvested from an old 9GB SCSI drive) and maybe a few other items. The centerpiece of my collection is a 70s era vintage hard drive platter.

I have Vol 1 of a 1980s TIME-LIFE series book called COMPUTER BASICS. It explained everything so I never did order Vol.2.

It's a fascinating read. Almost Sci-Fi.

A Mac SE? Maybe some very, very early issues of Wired. May even be able to dig up an old paper-tape reader. Maybe.

hmmm. it's not what i have, it's what do i want to bring and haul around.

probably bring a Newton or two. but do i want to haul in the Mac 512k? or Plus? or Color Classic?ooh, i could bring my MacTV... maybe a Duo...not even going to try and bring the IIfx.could bring the IIc (it has a handle), but i don't want to carry its bulky monitor around.requests or suggestions?

I could bring in some of the more portable things in my collection, like a Tandy 102 "laptop", or a MC-10 Micro Color Computer...
