Description:

Starting with an overview of common attack vectors, I'll discuss how Linux-based systems have built-in protection from "external" and "internal" threats. Linux is an increasingly popular platform for web services and is gaining ground in the Desktop space too. The same protections apply to both. A fundamental understanding of the tools available to manage the built-in firewall is essential. Managing access rights and privileges for processes (applications) can lock down your system to protect against unknown and new threats from malicious and poorly written programs.
