Lisa Berry

First off, I am SO VERY excited about BarCampCHS! This has been a longtime coming to the Charleston area indeed!

I currently work for Scientific Applications International Corporation (SAIC) as a Lead Systems Integration Analyst where I support a content management and collaboration project using Drupal CMS.

My responsibilities include the management and operations of my software test team, performing developmental testing, reviewing and analyzing system requirements, writing test plans, test reports, executive summaries, and managing the operations of the help desk for my project.

I've worked in the IT industry for 11 years. I started off in the industry by working for McKesson Corporation doing customer support way back when Windows 3.1 and XENIX products were not "old school"...hah! It was here I got interested in UNIX and Linux. A few years later, I moved on to a job at Ford Motor Company as Senior IT Support Lead (UNIX). Upon moving to South Carolina I was not able to find a job in the IT industry right away so I decided to go back to college and acquired a BS in Social Psychology. With a passion for organizational management, computers and people, I enrolled in graduate school where I am working on a dual master’s degree: MS in Technology Management and MBA. I also plan to become PMP certified and if time and life permit, a doctorate in management.

I'd definitely consider myself a computer geek since I love, live and breathe computers. I am pretty darn good cook and baker, if I do say so myself! I am a member of several local Toastmasters clubs; President of my home club; C4IT Club 1.

Most importantly, I am a wife to an awesome husband and mom of beautiful a 7yr old boy.
